Foreword Communications planned and managed the year-long media publicity programme for The International Furniture Fair Singapore 2009/26th ASEAN Furniture Show (IFFS/AFS 2009) which culminated in the official opening of the fair on 9 March 2009 Widely regarded as one of Asia’s premier, design-led furniture trade shows, IFFS/AFS 2009 continued to earn the confidence of global furniture players, drawing 471 exhibitors representing 33 countries. Close to 30 per cent of total exhibitors were first-time participants hailing from 26 countries, including Australia, Belgium, France, the United Kingdom and countries from all over Asia. Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Mr Lee Yi Shyan, was guest of honour at the official opening. More than 17,000 local and international visitors attended the show.
